Writing on the (Great) Wall - No Free Speech in China

On Wednesday, July 30, the Beijing Olympics, Games organisers announced that reporters will not have complete access to the Internet during the Beijing Olympics Games, reversing a pledge to bring down the Chinese firewall of censorship.

Sun Weide, spokesman for the organising committee said, "During the Olympic Games we will provide sufficient access to the Internet for reporters. Sites linked to the banned Falungong spiritual movement and other unspecified ones would remain blocked for the thousands of foreign reporters covering the games".

It seems we have a bit of a difference in the meaning of freedom of speech.

Given that China has a history of going back on it's promises, I'm a bit concerned that they hold trillions of dollars of our debt and are buying as much of our assets as possible.

This is a wake up call America! Remember, he who has the gold rules.
